"3 Stages"

This is my day in 3 stages...

Stage 1: Daytime in the Car

Stage 2: Sunset in the Car

Stage 3: Night in my car

It is amazing how you can pass an entire day sitting in a car.  So there you go, that was my day.  Now it is time to put this tired driver to sleep.

"Thanksgiving & things..."

I realize I haven't posted in a while.  It has been a busy Thanksgiving and I have not had the chance to upload some pics to celebrate the holiday.  Can I just say that any day dedicated to shopping automatically becomes my favorite!  So yes...Black Friday and I had our fun and my bank account is exhausted :)

It all started with the 6 hour trip back to Wichita...thankfully my iPhone kept me company.

I came home to find my poor little puppy (on the left in case you were wondering) sick as can be.  He had to stay overnight at the vet and came home only to break our hearts at his unusual lack of luster.  Thankfully he is doing much better now oh and check out the banana pudding my mom made for me!

Finally, my favorite part!  I, like millions of other Americans all across the country braved the cold weather and got in an incredibly long line to get a bargain.  Now my room looks like a mall exploded!  Let's just say I had some success.  Thanksgiving is over, Black Friday conquered, my room in need of some cleaning and this girl is ready for bed...

 Goodnight sleepy heads.

"Aftermath"

After the busiest week I've had in a while the weekend was extremely vital in winding down and coming to a stop...too bad that didn't happen.  This week was full of long days and late nights followed by a busy weekend of me being stuck in the dorm thanks to RA duty (no biggie).  Filming for a project, Mighty Ducks 2&3, Dinner & basketball game, and dinner at my Professor's house made for one busy but enjoyable weekend....(glad it is over)!

Did I mention I am going home Tuesday for Thanksgiving break?  Because I am!

"Undeniable"

The Christmas spirit is alive and well in our dorm!  Last night we spent approximately 5 hours working on the decorations for the lobby (my sleepy eyes could not stay open).  The finished product was well worth the time put in.  The gentlemen in our dorm are truly the most spirited and creative when it comes to Christmas decorating so I applaud you gentlemen (look at that tree made out of lights! So genius).

I cannot end this post without telling you how "undeniable" God has been in my life as of late.  It amazes me how right when I begin to doubt He shows himself faithful.  My trust is completely in Him and His plan.  He is at work in my life and I am excited to walk it out.  Overwhelmed by his love, undeserving of his grace and trusting in his will.

"Stress & Relief"

Monday was the longest day of my life up to this point (and no I'm not over exaggerating at all)!  Classes, meetings, classes, the pile of homework that accumulated, meetings and more meetings...bed time did not come til 2.  Regardless there was a glimmer of hope in the midst of that long day -- recognizing how much God is at work in my everyday life...absolutely priceless.

Not to mention the Christmas decorating that occurred on our floor last night.

Did I mention that pile of homework?  It is all done now and the puppy chow and Christmas decorating more than made up for it.  And how about that snowman/woman that the girls made on the wall?  She's a beauty.  I walk out of my room with a smile on my face with a hall that looks like this.

"Candle Light"

Finally some cold weather in Texas...unfortunately it didn't last too long.  I'm pretty sure November is not supposed to be 70-80 degrees!  The holidays are vastly approaching and I for one am anxiously awaiting the opportunity to put my winter wardrobe to use.

Helped Emily prepare her date with the boyfriend which unfortunately had to resort to Plan B due to the fact that Plan A would have been considered "trespassing" (go figure).  Regardless these candles got put to use and their date set sail.  As for me well it is probably going to be an early night.  I mean how in the world can you resist that bed?

Goodnight Sleepy Heads.

"Little Surprises"

You know those days that just just out and surprise you?  At the beginning they do not seem like much but somehow you end up being completely surprised by them?  Today was one of those days...

Reacquainting with old friends, meeting new friends and getting a little taste of home all at the same time.  Dinner with all the Kansas kids and seeing some life long friends made for one enjoyable dinner at Carinos.  Not to mention that my mom and dad surprised me by sending a care package with some friends from home!

Starbucks Giftcard, Pistachios, Peanut M&M's, Homemade cookies and Beef Jerky!  My dad even attached a cheesy note to the beef jerky (Just like his dad would do).  My parents know me oh so well because these happen to be all of my favorite things.  I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents and Lord knows I am going to indulge in these goodies for the next couple of days!  Just one of those days that ended in smiles.  No expectations for how the day would play out but thankful for all the "little surprises."

"Bun Times"

It was rainy again today....therefore the bun is a lifesaver.  78% of the time this is how my hair looks due to the fact that I am way too lazy to actually do something with it.

Days like this make me sleepy and want to curl up in my bed with a large cup of coffee.  I guess Starbucks will have to do for tonight.  Hallelujah the "Peppermint Mocha" is back on the menu for the holiday season and this girl is extra cheery as a result!  Bring on the ear muffs and mittens, I'm ready to freeze every time I walk out the door.

Finishing up some homework with Courtney at Starbucks then I will probably end my day with a good ole' workout then drift off to sleep in hopes that tomorrow will bring the cold.  Goodnight sleepy heads.

"Monday's Reputation"

Monday seems to have a reputation for being the "longest day ever!"  So thank you Monday for living up to that reputation.  However, aside from the tiredness that struck me today I loved the cloudy/rainy weather.  My favorite days are rainy days (maybe because they make me sleepy).  Either way I got to wear my new boots today! Look at them in all their splendor.  After a long day of classes and meetings all I want to do is relax but Monday had other plans...
Monday night Hall Devotions are my favorite since I get the chance to see all my beautiful girls and speak into their lives.  I guess Monday's are not so bad even though this is what awaited me after all was said and done...

Homework is finished, hot chocolate drank and now my bed is looking quite cozy.  Goodnight Sleepy heads.

"Family"

In church this morning the sermon was about honoring your parents, so I decided to dedicate this post to introducing my family.

I owe my amazing parents everything.  They have shaped me and formed me into the woman I am today.  Without them I probably would be living in a dump right now (okay maybe a little over dramatic).  They have loved and encouraged me to follow God's will for my life and always supported my dreams.  Not to mention the countless hours they have spent at sporting/school events and the numerous amounts of money they have invested in me to get me where I am.  Dad is the goofiest, motorcycle riding, embarrassing and loving man I've ever known.  My mom is the most selfless woman I know and my best friend. I am truly blessed to have them as my parents and am so thankful that they have raised me in a loving home, even if it does get crazy at times.

Those amazing parents produced 3 pretty "okay" kids.  The left is my younger brother Todd.  16 years old and the funniest kid I've ever met (not to mention the most ridiculous).  Leave it to Todd to keep us laughing and shaking our heads in disbelief at the same time.  The right is my older brother Ryan.  24 years old and the front man of a band "Don't Give Up The Ship" <you should check them out :)  Lastly, there is me in the middle.  The middle child and only girl at 20 years old.  I would like to think I am the sanity to the other two but I'm sure they would disagree.  All together we make up the most ridiculous, goofy and loving family there ever was.  I've heard it said you can't choose your family but I'm pretty sure they would be my first choice.

Unexpected Beauty

It is Saturday and like most Saturdays (at least for me anyways) that means lounging around with the bliss of absolutely nothing to do (aside from the "occasional" homework).  Today however, was a special day in which I attempted to make the dangerous journey from Waxahachie to downtown Dallas for a day of shopping with Emily.  The mall was overcrowded and wildly noisy but we managed to come out of there with a few gems!  But we couldn't leave Dallas without doing a little thrifting so we jumped in the car with our most recent purchases and found the nearest thrift store.  While trying to find a parking space I spotted this little beauty and just had to stop and take a picture...talk about a home that fairy-tale characters could only dream of. Then it was off to the thrift store while although I was unsuccessful in bringing anything home I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Em.  All in all it was a great Saturday and now it is time to end it with my head hitting the pillow to awake to a new time since we turn the clocks.  Goodnight sleepy heads.
